Completed Cupcakes

This summer, I have the honor of working with and advising a group of IT Interns (in the same place as I was last summer). I’ve made a few treats for them throughout the summer – because, well, I love baking 🙂 So, when one of them requested something chocolatey – I didn’t know what to make… My other half suggested cake…and that idea led me to finding cupcake recipes – specifically this one for Salted Dark Chocolate Cupcakes…. Colors in Boxes

Back in Elementary School, my friends and I would look at various colors and associate certain feelings or emotions with them. We talked in mood ring. “Oh, you like the color red? – You must be a really angry person…” Then in High School, a few of my English classes, and even in psychology, we discussed the various meanings behind colors. Blue is related to this. Yellow makes a person feel like this. And so on… So, what is the… Read more »

Here it goes… Mom & Dad Sister… Read more »

My Other Half & I at Forecastle

The past week has been crazy. Literally. My Fitbit One tells me that I slept 6 hours or less, Monday through Thursday night. I’ve managed to walk around 130,000 steps in the last seven days – i.e. an average of well over my goal of 15,000 steps per day. Why so busy, you ask? I’m not sure. I think when there are events post-work and there’s already a lack of sleep…that’s an issue. I’m still adjusting to this full-time world!… Read more »

Traveling is incredibly important to my life. Prior to my month-long excursion to Europe last December, I was leery of traveling – especially traveling abroad. Of course, I have traveled throughout my home state of Michigan and to a few other locations…but never anything like this. My other half and I visited London, Paris, Belgium, Berlin, Venice and Rome. Because of flight restrictions, we each only took one carry-on size suitcase and a small backpack – for an entire month!… Read more »

Open notebook and cup of coffee

When I started blogging, I loved the ease that came with blogging with Weebly. During college, I didn’t necessarily want to devote the time to customization, plug-ins, etc – I just wanted to write. Weebly is fabulous for this – it’s quick and easy and quite painless. Well, after graduation, I have found more time to devote to my little piece of the World Wide Web and decided I wanted to move from Weebly to the self-hosted version of… Read more »
