Yes, that’s right. The last thing I crossed off my bucket list was tandem skydiving. Here’s what happened… Before, Before… It all started with my birthday. Actually, it started about five weeks prior to my birthday. I was on a run with my other half and we started talking about making plans for my birthday. He asked me what I wanted – and I said, well instead of something, I instead wanted an experience of some sort. In my head,… Read more »

It’s funny how fast time flies…or is continuing to fly. 100 days ago, yesterday, I posted about the 100 Day Dash – an initiative at my work to get everyone up and moving – stepping, to be more specific. I made a goal to get 15,000 steps per day with a total ending step goal of 1.5 Million steps… It’s funny when you make a goal…and then you’re put on a fairly competitive team who pushes you to do even… Read more »

Ashlee's Workout

Yes. If you’ve noticed, any post regarding fitness discusses my love of running. And yes, I love to run. However, running doesn’t work (for me) if I don’t keep my core strength in tact. Therefore, today I’ll be sharing one of my strength workouts I do daily! If you’re wondering where it came from…it’s honestly a combination of my favorite and least favorite moves I’ve come across! Instructions: Note that I do this workout twice through and it takes me… Read more »

Fitbit Logo

If you didn’t know, I’m the proud owner of a Fitbit One. I love it. So, what is it? Fitbit is a company that produces fitness trackers and devices. I’ve had my Fitbit One for a little over a year, and prior to that I had the Fitbit Force for a while. The Force has been discontinued do to a rash/burn it produced on very few people (myself included). That’s okay, though as they have an entirely new set of… Read more »

As an associate, my employer hosts a program called the 100 Day Dash. Yesterday was the first day of the dash. The entire point of it is to inspire the health of all the associates. If someone wishes to be a part of the dash, they simply pick a team to join and start stepping! If you don’t know, I purchased a Fitbit One last year and have been wearing and keeping a count of my steps ever since. I… Read more »

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – running changed my life! Exercise removes stress, stops over-thinking and honestly – I find it fun! (Oh, and cardio is always a good thing – keeping that heart in good shape!).Well, a few months ago, I was wearing a “Born to Run” shirt…and someone questioned it – “Are you actually born to run? Do you do like the treadmill or outdoors?” Upon answering that I enjoy running outside, they looked… Read more »

Running was not always a love of mine. In fact, in high school I was hardly active enough for what would be considered a healthy lifestyle. I look back and think…no wonder I was so stressed/anxious all the time! Today, being National Running Day, I wanted to share that being active has had an amazing impact on my life. Running can go ahead and take credit for keeping me sane on my worst and best days. I’d encourage each of… Read more »

Smiley Face Clip Art

This past Friday, I was in mile three of four of my daily run and I was struggling. My breathing was off and I was cramping – I was about to slow to walk… However, another runner came towards me and stuck out her hand and with a big smile said “keep it up!” It really is the little things, because immediately my cramps disappeared and my breathing leveled out and I was actually smiling as I felt my pace… Read more »

MSU Marching Band

On October 5, 2010 I received my letter of acceptance to Michigan State University. As it is a Big Ten school – sports are important. My absolute favorite is football! The Spartan Stadium  is like nothing I had ever experienced before. Literally, you sit with over 75,000 others cheering for the same team. It is invigorating! This year, we played the Wyoming Cowboys for our Homecoming game and won 56-14! Check out some of the photos from the parade as… Read more »

Lansing Half Marathon Finish Line

I never really played the whole sports game when I was younger… I was far too uncoordinated and well, I just wasn’t part of that crowd. Although I may have ran a little or played a game of volleyball here or there, this just was not a priority of mine. I studied and studied and studied and stressed out a ridiculous amount. Looking back, I wasn’t 100%. Then I went to college. As I met and encountered and learned from new friends… Read more »
