2016 Adventure to Bliss

Whoa! What a month of commitment keeping 😛 January, of course, was my first month of my 2016 Adventure to Bliss. To keep myself accountable, I’ve been keeping track of my progress on each goal – and today, I want to share it with you!   – Be Me. {In Progress} I think that “being me” is a goal that is going to consistently be in progress all year long. My Adventure to Bliss is really encapsulated completely by my… Read more »

After working for most of October, November and December on my plans for my 2016 Adventure to Bliss, I was (and still am) so excited about all the good things that are resulting from it. If you read my challenge for the year, you know that it’s a major undertaking – the list of things to do is intense, yes – but, mostly exciting. As it’s getting closer to the end of January – I’d like to share my 2016… Read more »

2016 Adventure to Bliss

After reading Gretchen Rubin’s, The Happiness Project – I knew I needed to make some changes in my life. I knew I could be happier and I knew there were little things I could do to make this happiness a reality. And so, it is finally born, my 2016 Adventure to Bliss! My Adventure to Bliss will ultimately be a list of goals and although I’m just announcing it today and tagging it as a 2016 Adventure… it will really… Read more »

Gretchin Rubin can just go ahead and be permentently on my list of “inspirational writers.” On the recommendation of a fellow-blogger, I just recently (FINALLY) finished her (arguably) most popular work, “The Happiness Project.” Wow. I’ll be honest, I have tried reading this book many times. In fact, according to Amazon, I’ve had the book since January of 2012. And I literally just finished it this past weekend. So what was different this time? I honestly think it was just… Read more »

Life Update Oh, hello there! Long time, no write! Disappearance If you were wondering about my disappearance for the last few weeks – don’t worry. Life found a way to take over and pull me into it – so much so, that I found myself drifting away from blogging. Maybe even, burnt out at the sheer thought of writing. Time and separation do funny things to a person though. Because here I am, typing away with a smile on my… Read more »

Yes, that’s right. The last thing I crossed off my bucket list was tandem skydiving. Here’s what happened… Before, Before… It all started with my birthday. Actually, it started about five weeks prior to my birthday. I was on a run with my other half and we started talking about making plans for my birthday. He asked me what I wanted – and I said, well instead of something, I instead wanted an experience of some sort. In my head,… Read more »

I started in a class of, I believe, 18 kids at St. Joseph Academy in Adrian, Michigan. It was here that I met, Olivia. A dear friend who I still keep in touch with. We were inseparable for several years. It was here that I also recited The Children’s Hour by memory, was an active member of the Siena Heights University choir and where I learned to love going to the library and artwork. In fourth grade, I moved onto… Read more »

Ralph Waldo Emerson is quoted to have said… “To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived…. It’s funny how fast time flies…or is continuing to fly. 100 days ago, yesterday, I posted about the 100 Day Dash – an initiative at my work to get everyone up and moving – stepping, to be more specific. I made a goal to get 15,000 steps per day with a total ending step goal of 1.5 Million steps… It’s funny when you make a goal…and then you’re put on a fairly competitive team who pushes you to do even… Read more »

Okay. Step One. Read the Quote on the right. I’m serious. Don’t wait and come back later. Do it now. “Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a… Read more »

As an associate, my employer hosts a program called the 100 Day Dash. Yesterday was the first day of the dash. The entire point of it is to inspire the health of all the associates. If someone wishes to be a part of the dash, they simply pick a team to join and start stepping! If you don’t know, I purchased a Fitbit One last year and have been wearing and keeping a count of my steps ever since. I… Read more »

London in the Daytime

All I can say is wow. I honestly cannot believe that I have just (within the last few days) returned to the States after a month in Europe. My other half and I traveled to five main locations. These included London, Paris, all over Belgium, Berlin, Venice and finally Rome. We walked around 10 miles a day – by the end of our trip, our Fitbit Ones had tracked well over a half a million steps for each of us!… Read more »
