Today, I’m not only doing a Christmas Q & A… but I’m also extending a Merry Christmas Wish to all!

A Christmas Q & A

Today, I bring you my very own Christmas Q & A. Originally inspired by Sarah Emily Blogs, but I’ve added and subtracted a few bits of my own. Be sure to share your thoughts on my answers – and what your answers would be 🙂

  • Do you do anything to countdown to the day?
    • The last few years, I’ve grown used to doing an advent calendar with my roommate in college. Of course, this Christmas we aren’t together (insert sad face!). So, instead, I got one of the Advent Calendars that has a little door on each day and each day has a note to my other half. It’s such a joy to see him open the notes each day!
  • Favorite Christmas scent?
    • Cinnamon and Pine!
  • Favorite Christmas movie?
    • How could I ever pick just one?! There’s Home Alone, Merry Christmas Charlie Brown, A Christmas Carol… I could go on 🙂
  • What is your typical Christmas fashion?
    • Dresses – festive, bright colored dresses!
  • Snow or no snow?
    • Christmas, is not Christmas without fluffy white stuff all over the ground! … Of course, I say that when it’s clearly Christmas today and there’s unfortunately no snow – thanks to the warm temperatures. So, in a way, Christmas is still Christmas whether there’s snow on the ground or not… it’s just nice to have snow this time of year, instead of rain! 🙂
  • Favorite sounds of the season?
    • Jingle bells, as they remind me of all the good things there are in the world. In the Polar Express, they are used as a symbol of believing in things you cannot see or touch – to me, that’s part of having faith. Jingle bells remind me to have faith.
  • What is your favorite winter treat?
    • Hot Chocolate is always high on my list 🙂 But really, anything warm.
  • Name a favorite Christmas tradition?
    • Church on Christmas Eve!
  • When do you put up your Christmas tree and/or other decorations?
    • November first! The second Halloween is over with, it’s Christmas time!
  • What goes on top of your tree?
    • As a child, I remember having an Angel on the top of the tree. This year, our tree has a star on it.
  • What do you eat for your Christmas meal and when do you eat it?
    • Ham or turkey or Prime Rib or Duck… 🙂 along, of course, with all the trimmings! As for when we eat it, it depends on who it is with. As a child it was easy, Christmas Eve at my Mom’s parents with all of her side of the family and Christmas Day at my Dad’s parents with all of his side of the family. Of course, growing up seems to complicate things. And then I have my other half to think of!! 🙂 So, now Christmas is whenever it fits. This year, we are celebrating on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the Sunday after Christmas!
  • Do you leave anything out for Santa? If so what?
    • Of course, I haven’t done this in a long time. But maybe, just maybe, I’ll bring it back this year 🙂
  • When do you open your gifts?
    • Like I said before, because Christmas celebrations are kind of spread out all over – it just happens when it happens 🙂
  • Do you go to any Christmas services? Religious or otherwise?
    • Yes! Christmas Eve at Church has been a tradition since I can remember. We sing lots of songs, the story of Baby Jesus’s birth is shared and then at the end, we all line the outside wall of the church with lit candles and sing Silent Night. Just thinking about it brings happy tears to my eyes.
  • Eggnog or hot chocolate?
    • Gotta go with Hot chocolate 🙂 Mainly because I’ve only had eggnog once 😛
  • Does Santa wrap presents or just set them under the tree?
    • Wraps them, of course!
  • Colored lights on tree/house or white?
    • I like colored lights on Christmas trees outside and white lights inside. I’m not sure why 🙂
  • Do you hang mistletoe?
    • Never. Until, this year! My other half and I, of course, thought it would be fun to.
  • Can you ice skate?
    • Yes! I took a class in college and it was SO much fun! I’m certainly no pro, but something about gliding around on the ice is an absolute blast!
  • What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you?
    • The birth of Baby Jesus! 🙂
  • Which do you prefer: giving or receiving?
    • I won’t lie and say that receiving isn’t enjoyable, but the fact of the matter is that I love giving. I love seeing peoples face light up at the sight of a gift! It’s always a challenge to find or create the perfect gift – and with great challenges come great pleasures!
  • Candy canes: yuck or yum?
    • Yummy!
  • What are your favorite Christmas memories?
    • Singing Silent Night at Christmas Eve Church service – and hearing Oh Holy Night being sung
    • All things food related 😉
    • Getting a Giant Teddy Bear for Christmas 🙂
    • Decorating Christmas trees outside
    • Putting up Christmas decorations at my Grandma’s
    • Christmas in California Aunts, Uncles and Cousins! 🙂
    • Christmas in Belgium with my other half and his family <3

Merry Christmas, Friends! 🙂

From me to you, I’d wish you peace, hope and joy in your hearts today and always. I’d also like to extend my gratefulness to each of my readers – new and old – for your continued support. Merry, merry Christmas, dear ones!

  • Merry christmas Ashlee! Loved my box! I hope yours arrived… I’ve not had much in the way of Internet over the last 10 days to be able to check….

You tried eggnog! What did you think? In fairness, I did figure out this year that organic ones are def the best… the artificially flavored ones are not the same at all. Sorry if that advice comes too late! 😛

    • Thank you, Sarah! I did get my box!! I absolutely loved it, thank you, thank you!! 😀 I have a blog post all done with it… just haven’t gotten to post it yet 😛 Silly holidays…

The Eggnog was good! It will never be able to replace chocolate though 😉

Hope you’re having a very Merry Christmas <3
