Today, I’m sharing my favorite piece of nature.

This topic poses quite a puzzle for my mind. I love the color of the leaves as they turn in the early Autumn months. I adore thunderstorms, warm rain and the wind blowing chimes and the branches of trees. I grew up with nature and I feel incredibly close to it. However, my answer is…

Stars. I could literally stand up and look at the stars for an entire night.

I grew up in the middle of nowhere. As a child, I would go outside and look up on a cloudless night and the sky would be completely lit up with stars. It wouldn’t have the city lights getting in the way of the natural beauty of stars. They’d just be up their – twinkling endlessly.

At times, I might even see a shooting star!

Now that I live close to a city, my trips home are especially important. Not just because I have the pleasure of seeing my family…but also because I’m able to go outside at night and see the stars.

Something about the fact that these little lights just fill up the sky and twinkle everywhere – and the stars that are shining down on me are the same stars shining down on others. I just think it’s a neat concept.

Quotes About the Stars…

  • “Keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground” – Theodore Roosevelt
  • “I will love the light because it shows me the way. Yet, I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars” – Og Mandino
  • “We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle” – Marilyn Monroe
  • “Look out into the universe and contemplate the glory of God. Observe the stars, millions of them, twinkling in the night sky, all with a message of unity, part of the very nature of God.” – Sai Baba

  • Love the stars! I taught my kindergarteners a unit about space last year and the year before, and I think it was both my and their favorite unit… outer space is so wonderfully mind-boggling. 🙂
